An Appointment For You
It might be time to set
an appointment for you. Or
several appointments. It
is too easy to let the things we want to
do for ourself slide when life gets busy.
You have probably heard it said that you need
to put yourself back on
the list. I think
you need to literally
put yourself on the calendar.
We
are good about keeping
appointments with the dentist,
doctor, even the vet for our pets.
But
when was the last time you got a massage, a facial, or even took the
time to be
quiet and sort out your thoughts?
All of
these things are important to your health, they are not merely luxuries. If there are things you
would like to do, put
them in your schedule. It
may seem a bit
indulgent at first but you are worth it.
If you take care of yourself, you can better
take care of others. So
schedule that bath with a mask on your
face, your workout class, or the pedicure and know that you are doing
something
good for yourself. If
you have a
daughter, you will be setting a good example by showing her it is
important to
take care of your health. If
you mark it
as an appointment on your calendar, you can then protect that time by
simply
starting you have an appointment and instead schedule for another time
when you
really are free.
