Design Your Best Life Program
It is now time for you to design your best life program - the tool you
will use to achieve all of your goals!
If
you have followed the previous posts, you know where your time is going
and have set goals you want to achieve in the next year. Keep
this
list handy where you can refer back to it regularly. I highly
recommend you utilize a calendar to keep track of things to do and
milestones achieved. For example, if you want to spend more
family
time with your children, mark dates on the calendar so nothing else
interferes. You may designate every Thursday evening as
family game
time, or movie night, or maybe that is the only evening a week you can
all have a nice sit-down dinner together. Make this time a
priority
over other events. If it is something too difficult to avoid
(such as
a childs sport event at school) comes up, be sure to reschedule within
the next couple of days..and stick to it. If another goal is
to lose
weight, pick the various methods you will utilize and make sure you
incorporate them consistently. Design your life so that it
supports
your goals. Something as simple as drinking
water
can help you lose weight, so set a glass by the stove where you will
see it while preparing dinner. For everything you want to
change, make
a clear plan for how to achieve it. Write the supporting
activities on
your calendar and check it daily to make sure you are on track.
These
changes are not always easy-you have to want them enough to do the
work. You have to be dedicated to seeing it through but
knowing the
benefits of the outcome should motivate you. You can even
make a goal
board-where you post photos or positive reinforcements to keep you
motivated. I have read several places where it takes 28 days
to form a
habit and that it is easier to replace one habit with another.
That is
why smokers often eat mints or chew gum instead of having a cigarette.
We are creatures of habit-and there is no reason you can't
form good
habits which support the life you desire!
Remember to be
cautious of the things taking your time that aren't important to your
goals or your best life program. As I stated earlier, I found
that
emails and things like facebook were taking more time than I wanted
them to. So I decided to only check my email a certain number
of times
a day, to only respond to those that I deemed important or necessary,
and to only check facebook once a week. For me, this change
gave me so
much more time in my schedule, and I felt I was in control of it,
instead of it controlling me.
As this blog continues, I will
focus on many things you can do to have a simply beautiful life as well
as different aspects of the comprehensive oxidation management program
you can easily incorporate into your best life program!
