Honey Spa Recipes               

 

The natural power of honey has been recognized thousands of years and is now a favorite in spa recipes.  It has antibacterial, antioxidant, and hydrating properties which make it perfect for use on the skin.  This substance is comprised of amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, water, glucose, minerals, and fructose.  It is also used in the spa for several relaxing and rejuvenating treatments.  You can do these treatments at home to pamper yourself and save a lot of money.

 

Milk and Honey Face and Body Treatment

3 oz honey

2 oz powdered milk

2 oz grapeseed oil

Combine milk and honey ingredients and whip with beater for 1 minute.  You can add any scent you desire such as lavender, orange zest, vanilla, or anise.  You can also leave it unscented.  Apply grapeseed oil to skin after cleansing and exfoliating.  Then apply milk and honey mixture over oil.  Wrap body and leave for 45 minutes.  Remove in tepid shower.

Sweet Body Polish

½ C honey

½ C extra fine grain sugar

1/3 C powdered milk

3 oz grapeseed oil

Combine powdered milk and sugar.  Add that dry mix to honey and grapeseed oil and stir gently.  Use more or less oil and sugar to adjust abrasiveness.  Apply mixture to body and gently massage into the skin.  Remove in tepid shower.

Sweet Oat Body Wrap

3 oz honey

½ C rolled oats

15 oz milk

2 oz powdered milk

2 tsp orange zest

4 oz shea butter, presoftened

Soak oatmeal in milk for 30 minutes.  Pour mixture into a pot bring to a boil-stirring constantly.  Simmer for 3-4 minutes.  Pour mixture into a bowl and add orange zest, honey, and shea butter.  For a creamier texture put in blender for 30 seconds.  For thicker mixture add dry milk.  Apply a thin layer of grapeseed oil and then honey mixture over that.  Wrap body for 45 minutes.  Remove with tepid shower.
