How Many Calories Do You Need Daily?

Have you ever wondered how many calories you need daily?  I believe everyone should know this number-whether you are trying to lose weight or just maintain a healthy weight. 

This formula reads a bit like a tax return and is accepted by nutritionist worldwide.  It is designed specifically for women and takes into account height and weight- as both these factors affect how many calories you burn daily. 

1.  Multiply your current weight in pounds (or goal weight if you are dieting) by 4.5____

2.  Multiply height in inches by 15.88____

3.  Add lines 1 & 2____

4.  Multiply age by 5____

5.  Subtract line 4 from line 3____

6.  Subtract 161 from line 5____

7.  Multiply line 6 by your activity factor*_____   This is how many calories you need daily.

*Activity Factor:

Choose the one that is closest to your regular exercise routine:

1.2  Little to no activity

1.375  Light, 1-3 days a week

1.55   Moderate, 3-5 days a week

1.725  Hard, 6-7 days a week

1.9  Hard exercise plus physical job
